he kind of did lol.

That is NOT a flipped spring in the orientation you were referencing. He didn't just take the leaf pack out, flip it upside down, and bolt it back together. You can see in his pic the leaf pack is STILL arched in the factory direction. What he did do though was take the overload spring, and flip that single leaf of the pack to the top of the pack. Meaning, that tiny short spring on top, that is already pivoting out of place and hanging over the rest of the pack with the red arrow pointing to it, he took that off the bottom of the leaf pack, it used to be where the green arrow points, and he moved it to the top where the red arrow points

That leaf now does nothing for the suspension,, it doesn't provide assistance with payload being up top, it serves the same function as it would not even being there at all, but he didn't have to buy new U-bolts or anything since keeping it in the pack the overall leaf pack thickness is still the same. It's just not providing assistance to the suspension on the top like it would the bottom, therefore being a "free" drop worth maybe 1/2" if that. It's worth about the thickness of the individual leaf since the upper most long leaf is what is mounted to the frame, and it's one less leaf between that upper most long leaf and the axle now providing a tiny drop.

So you're buddy does have a "free" drop kit, but it's by removing the bottom overload leaf and flipping it to the top of the leaf pack as in just moving the order of leafs. He didn't flip anything upside down.

and just for clarity, here's a pic from our application (MINUS the axle being flipped to the top in this pic, ignore the flip kit for the sake of this one), the little overload leaf pointed out with a green arrow, that's what he took and put at the top of the leaf pack. He just "flipped" the order of leafs, he didn't flip any leafs upside down.

Thank you Harley for taking my question seriously. And for proving why it won't work. Unlike most that gave me :shitstormretarded and didn't even explain why it wouldn't work or didn't understand what I was asking lol

As I stated before I wasn't looking for a flip kit, I already knew what that was.
And also my friend hadn't shown me pictures of the truck until I posted them.
Then he exactly said, "I flipped the leaf springs upside down." Which I didn't believe was possible, so I did some research and understood some people actually do that, but depending on vehicle application. Which led me to ask this question which no one took serious, but clowned on me on how stupid the idea was yet no one could prove it wrong except Harley. Lol but thanks man.

Why would I do it when Harely has proven it can't be done?
I told you in post #15 that it could not be done the way you described. But the picture you showed us of what your buddy did is totally different from what was discussed in the thread. Which was a reorganized leaf pack.
