Yes sir,

I measured from the cowl to the front of the supercharger and it was 17.5". I only opened up the louvers that were in front of that point, so water can't get to the coils. It can get to the air filter however. I plan on getting a K&N filter cover to wrap up the air filter.

K & N filters can handle being wet anyhow. K & N's were first popular on off-road vehicles, and I am certain saw a lot of rain. The two on my motorcycle are outside exposed to the elements. I don't ride in the rain intentionally, but have gotten caught out in it. Never been a problem, consider it water injection and keep-on-keepin-on.

There's on on each side.

As far as the back two on each side, just paint them flat black when it's done. That way at least they'll look the same as the other three.

I'd leave it satin black but that's just the rat rodder in me.

My question is what happens if your stuck in traffic when a sudden downpour hits. Same as a wet distributor?
Probably why he left the rear two on each side closed. The forward three probably fall in front of the engine.
