Lots of enlightening reading. Articles like the following. It may have lots of articles that you may not like because they prove some things are junk. LOL! But just because you think the message is bad doesn't mean you shoot the messenger. I'm not the only one on this site who reads there. And actually, since they modified this site to be the "great new site for us" that it is, I've noticed less people online than ever before, less posts, less responses to questions. It's all falling apart here, and I foresee that I may have to do what I never wanted to do, open a fakebook account and leave this place to die slowly. Cause it is. Diesing slowly. It isn't what it used to be. It flat ass sucks here. And I'm not the only one who feels that way. Guaranteed.

This is why Zero Hedge is considering whacky by some. Pro gun, mostly Republican website. Any loony liberal virtue signalling asshats who come there get driven off pretty fast. So yeah, lots of liberals in the media don't like the site. If you take the Lamestream Media seriously, you have problems.

Ok Robert since you basically refered to me as a liberal in Josh's thread because of your sources lets just take a look at it. They are backed by Russia (The site is hosted in Bulgaria, and Austria) to create misinformation here in the west, they are banned from most social media because they are full of lies and made up information. I would choose yahoo news over zero hedge any day of the week, all it takes is a little research and you will see what is fake. They are no different than Alex Jones, saying that Sandy Hook never happened, just think about those family's that have to deal with that bullshit trying to grieve their lost child.

I don't talk politics much and a sure as hell don't want to come on to the forum for my hobby and read about stupid fake made up bullshit stories that are keeping this country divided.

So I posted the statistics from National Hwy and the insurance institute about real actual auto fires. Looks like battery electric cars aren't more deadly. Also if these cars are burning to the ground every day, why are they not getting turned into insurance or is Musk is just paying off the insurance companies to keep quiet.

Finally if you want the forum traffic to pick back up why don't you knock the bullshit off of shitting on other peoples thread like you did with Tim's thread (Those awesome radiator clamps that you wouldn't let go) about the hoses. Josh's about his car purchases, and all of the other threads that you derail with Ranger pick up truck talk. I know that you are more enlighten and smarter than most of us will ever be, but why don't you trying and think that just maybe the world doesn't revolve around your uninformed ass, and quit being a dick.

Detailed Report
Factual Reporting: MIXED
Country: Bulgaria
World Press Freedom Rank: Bulgaria 45/180
History
Launched in 2009, Zero Hedge is a finance blog founded by Colin Lokey also known with the pseudonym “Tyler Durden,” Daniel Ivandjiiski, and Tim Backshall. According to a Bloomberg Interview the Zero Hedge founders/authors were anonymous until 2016. A Professional Service Subscription is required to read the rest of the interview from Bloomberg, however a New Yorker article also covered their history.
Zero Hedge wrote a rebuttal article regarding the Bloomberg interview that can be found here. A quote from the rebuttal reads: “Zero Hedge hired Colin when he approached us over a year ago begging for a job after he was fired with cause from Seeking Alpha, following a fight with a co-worker.”
Funded by / Ownership
The website is registered in Bulgaria under the name Georgi Georgiev, a business partner of Krassimir Ivandjiiski.
According to Rationalwiki the only writer “conclusively” identified is “Dan Ivandjiiski, who conducts public interviews on behalf of Zero Hedge.” The blog generates revenue from online advertising.
Analysis / Bias
In a quote from the above New Yorker article they summarize the political stance of the blog, which Lokey told Bloomberg is: “Russia=good. Obama=idiot. Bashar al-Assad=benevolent leader. John Kerry= dunce. Vladimir Putin=greatest leader in the history of statecraft.”
Zero Hedge’s content has been classified as “alt-right” and has been criticized for presenting conspiracy theories.
In review, Zero Hedge publishes pro-right wing/Trump articles such as Pat Buchanan: “Trump Calls Off Cold War II.” As well as fake news stories regarding liberals: Anti-Trump Protesters Bused Into Austin, Chicago.
Editorial content is written under the pseudonym Tyler Durden and usually focuses on conspiracies related to economic collapse. Zero Hedge sources to factually mixed think tanks such as the The Mises Institute, which promotes Austrian (Anarcho-Capitalism) economics.
A factual search reveals a terrible track record with IFCN fact checkers. There are too many failed checks to list here.
Overall, we rate Zero Hedge an extreme right biased conspiracy website. (8/18/2016) Updated (M. Huitsing 7/17/2018)

YouTube screengrabThe men behind the legendary finance blog Zero Hedge have been unmasked after one former blogger with the site revealed the identity of his employers.
Speaking with Bloomberg reporters Tracy Alloway and Luke Kawa, Colin Lokey — described as a "political science graduate with an MBA and a Southern twang" — said he was part of a three-man team running Zero Hedge, the blog best known for its sensationalist headlines and bearish outlook on the world.
Lokey, 32, says the other men behind the site are 37-year-old Daniel Ivandjiiski, a Bulgarian former hedge fund analyst, and Tim Backshall, a 45-year-old credit derivatives strategist. Lokey claims to have worked for Zero Hedge for more than a year.
The identity of the bloggers running Zero Hedge has long been the subject of speculation in the financial community, with Ivandjiiski often cited as the likely source of much of the site's content. As early as 2009, speculation that Ivandjiiski could be behind the blog appeared in US media, with a New York Post article titled "BLOGGER MAY HAVE A PAST" speculating that he was in fact behind Zero Hedge.
Ivandjiiski worked in a hedge fund before being kicked out of the securities industry during the height of the financial crisis in 2008 for insider trading, the report says.
Backshall frequently tweets under the handle @credittrader and has made appearances on CNBC. In 2012, for example, Backshall appeared on CNBC by phone to discuss the credit default swap market. The screenshot below is taken from that appearance.

Screenshot/CNBC.com Since the Bloomberg post was published, Zero Hedge has posted a rebuttal to the article, alleging that much of what Lokey says is in fact untrue, and that Lokey is "an emotionally unstable, psychologically troubled alcoholic with a drug dealer past, as per his own disclosures."

Facebook has repeatedly featured the blog Zero Hedge -- which is known for trafficking in conspiracy theories and misinformation -- on its pages for news Trending topics. And at least once in the past week, the blog was the featured news source for a story on the Trending topics section of the news feed.

Facebook has recently claimed it is taking steps to combat the spread of fake news and misinformation on its platform, which proliferated around and after the 2016 election cycle. One of the key moments leading to Facebook’s misinformation problem was its decision in August 2016 to fire its “news curators” and put the Trending topics section under the control of an algorithm. The appearance of Zero Hedge as a news source in that section shows the algorithm is still struggling with curating credible news sources.

Zero Hedge was initially launched as a financial blog in 2009 and has repeatedly trafficked in the same ecosystem as The Gateway Pundit and Infowars. The latter two are conspiracy theory websites that, along with 4chan’s “politically incorrect” message board (commonly referred to as /pol/), are well known for spreading misinformation. Infowars and Gateway Pundit have become so notorious that even some conservatives have spoken out against them. Zero Hedge sometimes pushes conspiracy theories from Gateway Pundit, and Infowars has also often taken stories from Zero Hedge to push conspiracy theories. Infowars figures have also taken part in some of the same conspiracy theories as Zero Hedge.

Some of the false or dubious claims Zero Hedge has indulged in together with those websites include:

Additionally, Zero Hedge has pushed multiple false stories from fake news website YourNewsWire and from fake news website True Pundit. It also pushed the conspiracy theory known as Pizzagate, and repeatedly promoted conspiracy theories surrounding slain Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich.

Despite Zero Hedge’s history of misinformation, between January 22 and January 26, different Facebook Trending topics pages featured it as a news source, including pages about:

On January 24, the Trending topics section on the main news feed featured the blog as its top story about the Alliance for Securing Democracy (ASD), a think tank that tracks Russian influence online. That Zero Hedge article criticized ASD for noting that Russian-linked accounts were pushing #ReleaseTheMemo, a campaign to get a memo written by House Republicans released that allegedly discredits the FBI’s investigation into Trump’s campaign.

This is not the first time that Facebook has prominently promoted the blog; in October, the social media platform’s crisis response page for the Las Vegas, NV, mass shooting featured a link to an article from a site called antimedia.org that was a reprint of a Zero Hedge post.

The risk of sites like Zero Hedge finding a platform in Facebook’s Trending news stories section became clear with Facebook’s announcement that it will rely on users to determine which sites are trustworthy: If users have been seeing a source trending often, they will be more likely to trust it when asked.

Facebook’s misinformation problem will continue to persist if it keeps giving a boost to outlets like Zero Hedge that regularly peddle misinformation. While the platform has made announcements in recent weeks that it claims will lessen the impact of misinformation on the news feed, the continuing problems of the Trending topics section promoting dubious websites as legitimate news sources are just as important. Nearly two years since it fired humans to curate its Trending topics, this section -- and the website as a whole -- continues to fail its users.

So tell me 49 Ford, is this Fake News? Or anything other than the f*cking truth? There's a lot of places out there that don't like the Hedge because it's no holds barred. Exposes a lot of crap that other's may not want exposed. Other than that, I use that thing between my ears and only read stuff there that is of interest to me. I don't have time to read every single article there. Only the ones of interest to me.

Well since by the DNS registry of the web site its hosted in the two Russian countries that I mentioned and listed, I don't believe a word they print. As I have said they have been a tool for meddeling in the last election, and spreading progaganda for several years and seeing how you are eating it all up, then successfully I would say. I think they controlling the narrating, basically an absence of malice. As far as Epstein everyone already knew of him, and so did the FBI he bought his way out of the first trail.

I don't give a flying F that it's hosted in Russia. Russia isn't the enemy anymore. More to be concerned about with China than Russia. I personally am happy whenever DJT and VP get together and chat. Makes me smile.

Like I said, the thing between my ears can detect bullsh*t. Sure, there's some far out articles there. I can usually tell them by the title alone. There's a couple authors there that are big into the doom porn genere. Yellostones going to erupt soon. The big one is gonna strike Ca soon. The giant meteor is coming. Etc. All they get from me is a hearty LOL!

By the way, if you hunt and eat deer, might want to give this one a read.

Good for you that it doesn't matter to you that a aggressive foreign government is manipulating information to US and around the world, that should workout well for everyone. Anyway I'm not going to keep discussing this, its kind of like the oath some of us have take to protect against foreign and domestic threats, I kind of took that serious. I do see China as a threat as well but they need our consumers.

So you work on a United States military base and you don't think Russia is an enemy. Maybe I'm different but I'm alarmed that you don't see the difference. Its already working with their propaganda they add some truth and manipulate the rest, they are affecting our stock markets and here you are posting their bullshit helping them by creating contempt and doubt and spreading their narrative. And just look how you won't let shit go and believe so passionately that you can't see the forest for the trees.

That's cool. Like I said, when I see Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin shaking hands and taking like adults, it lets me know you';re wrong. And maybe that forest thing is your problem, not mine.

lol you complain LR is fading away with activity, and like mentioned above all you do to "help" that is shat all over people's threads and now you're going all political. I'm sure talking politics will restore a frenzy of lightning discussions overnight! <where's that rolleyes emoji that everyone was crying about emojis changing>

I'm surprised you trust any internet source of a website. You don't trust new technology in cars, you don't like new platforms of social media, you don't have a laptop and I thought you said before you're a flipphone kind of guy so I'm guessing your on some old gateway desktop gazing into a CRT monitor, I'm shocked you aren't only citing the enquirer or some other paper news that gets dropped at your door step.

I have a HP desk top with a 23 inch LED screen, all electronics in the screen, no stand alone CPU.

All I need of my phone is to be able to talk and text. I don't need or want anything more. I will not be one of those idiots who spend their whole day with their head down looking at their STUPID phone. I don't need, or want to have the damn internet at my disposal all f*cking day long. Therefore, why have one of those big bricks on my person, when I can have a little flip phone that can lose in my pocket with my keys? But even better than that, I keep it in a pouch on my ankle. Out of sight, out of mind. Can't hear it ring, can't feel it vibrate. PERFECT!
