Got some good news via text the other day. The new heart has arrived. Once Mr Wizard gets done with it, all I got to do is put it all back together

"Finally" started fitting my ground effects. 7 hours in, and I'm a little over half done. I had to modify a bunch of the fiberglass to make it all fit perfectly. I'm glad to have the side steps off the truck.

Did some work and started it up today. Got some tips from Cbxr on adjusting the manual tensioner.

Looks like you’re cutting and grafting Lightning G.Es, correct?

They are lightning ground effects for an extended cab. Made of fiberglass. The fitment was horrible. Had to cut them apart and remove/add mounts to get everything straight. Hot glue worked amazing to hold things in place while I added fiberglass. The exact reason I've been putting it off. I'm a mechanical guy and don't care for bodywork...

Understandable. I’ve always wanted to ditch my OEM running boards (only had them for allow my 5’4” mother to climb in), but I could never find a good body/ground effect kit for our 4x4 SCABs. Street Scene had a kit, but the fit was absolute garbage.
Good luck with your fabrication and fitment. I’m sure it will look awesome. 👍🏼

Any recommendations on short/long blocks now that MMR stopped building 5.4s?
Well, finally got my hands on two M & H Race Master 390/40-17's. I know in the past, I've been told these are not that big. Maybe M & H changed things up? Tread is different, no longer has the large flat mid section. Tread goes all the way across. And mounted on 11 inch Race Stars, the tread on the ground is over 13 inches. They're YUGE!

Sorry, Ma Nature hasn't been obliging about giving me adequate sunlight to take some worthy pictures. Not even today, cloudy and overcast. There will be cruising Air Depot Blvd. in Midwest City OK this evening. I'll have my camera with me. Hopefully the sun will peek out a time or two.

I know I am not the first person to run the skinny Mickey Thompson fronts. The load rating scares me a bit. 1175 per tire. Call it 2400 pounds total. Dusten posted a pic the other day showing a front end weight of around 2700 pounds. So 300 pounds over weight, 150 per tire. They seem to be doing alright though. I've put 100 miles on them since I put them on the truck last Wednesday. Wearing very nicely. Even on both corners and both sides.

Took it around my favorite twisty road yesterday. It's all good! Of course I know not to push any limits with these front tires. But it handled the road at the speed limit of 45 mph just fine.

When I'm able to get some pics, I'll start a new thread. Hopefully today. Weather after today, the next two weeks, is very wet.

I finally put the catch can on Sunday. I'll have to address the filth in my engine bay due to sitting for the majority of four years. I guess ill get some dawn/water in a spray bottle, paper towels and an old tooth brush and get at it. I dont want to drench it with a hose and soap.

I pulled inside trim to replace broken back glass, also lost the little buttons that hold trim in. The search is on.
Built a cradle for my new A1 Stage 2 Transmission, reading install notes and well, yardwork. 😕
