Made a magnetic drain plug for the rear housing.
The Mag-Hytec cover on my rear end has both a magnetic drain plug and a magnetic dipstick. I can pull the dipstick, wipe it down and re-insert it. Since I had new 4.10 gears put in, I had to do that a few times. Wasn't a lot, just a little bit. But it eventually started coming out clean.

Got the new headlight surround / grill back on the truck Sunday. Even though it's a STX grill, it looks like my old billet grill, even has the same number of horizontal bars. I like the chrome surround piece. Working on the FORD emblem now. Painted it satin black, then going to put the chrome SVT emblem in the center and put it on the truck. I need to black out the lower grill to match the upper. Thinking black U-channel door trim will be the easiest. Don't want to pull the bumper cover off at this time. I've seen in the past where peeps have used chrome u-channel door trim on their motorcycles, to get the chrome look.

I'll get some pics when it's all done and I roll it out of the garage for the first time in three months.

Early HD truck guys used the chrome door trim for the lower grills prior to JJent (had one on my 03 HD SCREW). Hell even after due to availability and pricing. It's one of those mods that looks good from a far but far from looking good. I know as I used it back in 97 on my Dodge Dakota. :)

I got it. I'm kinda hoping because I'm using black, not chrome, that it'll be alright. I'm putting black-on-black, not chrome-on-black. Eventually, I'll likely pull the bumper cover off. It could use some TLC as far as little dings and stuff. I don't tailgate anyone, but there are still a few there. Problem is, those damn billet grills were put on with rivets. And when I drilled them out, several drill bits broke off in the vertical supports, and I couldn't get them out. And, the old grill / headlight surround cracked at one of the rivet holes, which is why I had to tear it all apart to begin with. The billet grill doesn't offer a lot of support to the plastic, whereas the stock type do.

Got it out of the garage for the first time today, in three months. Sorry I didn't get any pics ,it was dreary and overcast all day. No rain, just no sun either. Will get it out again tomorrow, need to get the oil changed. It's been sitting three months. I'll try and get pics tomorrow. Saw a Mustang today with the same front end as my Lightning. Blacked out upper grill with chrome surround, black lower grill. So, I'm good with it.

Got to take my old exhaust out and install a new one. Not sure who did the welds on this thing, but they were blind.

Got my Delta PAG dual 16" brushless fans after 5 months of waiting. These fans only pull 22amps at full power with soft-start feature and more CFM than my old Mark 8 fan at 70amps, also saving a few pounds with this setup.

My Mark 8 fan finally burnt up on me a few months ago so wanted to find a better solution with new brushless fan technology.

A lot of high end drag cars run these fans.
