Have a 2003 Lightning with 62,000 miles with a transmission front seal that leaks. Changed to Amsoil synthetic at 30,000 miles and wonder if the synthetic could be the problem?

May not be the cause but it wasn't needed. Run the cheapest trans fluid you can find in these transmissions.

Front seal isn't a big deal to change aside from pulling the trans out (3-4 hour job) but there may be another issue since the seals aren't usually prone to leak.

What would be the recommended service for a transmission with 62K miles and a front seal leak? Are there other items that should be repaired / replaced in addition to fixing the front seal?

Don't know if it was a coincidence but the rear end had to be rebuilt with 57,000 miles using Amsoil synthetic (changed at 6,000 miles), and yes I used the additive.
