I have an 03 harley edition and it seems like my 2-3 shift and 3 to overdrive are early and lug the truck down, and it feels like you have to give an excessive amount of pedal to get it to kickdown in either gear but especially from overdrive. Which sensor dictates the shift is it mostly tps or is it a combination of parameters that have to be met. Any info is great. And I know there's a harley section but it seems no one goes there. Thanks

Yes, check your TPS. .99v/201 counts at closed throttle.

That's how these trucks r programmed from the factory. At light throttle cruising around it'll shift to over drive around 40mph and it's hard to get it out of over drive without basically flooring it. So annoying. I used to cruise everywhere with the over drive off until about 50mph then I would turn it on. JJ at wms adjusted it in my tune. Driving normal my truck doesn't shift into overdrive until 52 mph which is where I want it. We r still messing with the pedal effort for downshifting. Get someone to email tune and adjust it for u

Yep, in town I just leave OD off in both my Lightning and my Ranger. Don't generally shift either into OD until around 50 or thereabouts.

I was wondering if that's just the way it is because the trans feels great other than that that's why I was looking into the control logic. Well I've been in touch with jj at wms and Paul the punisher. So I guess it's time to move forward with one of them and I will still check tps voltage and maf counts. Thanks for the help

Shift points are based on vehicle speed and throttle position.. You'd need a tune of some sort to modify shift points and kickdowns.

Well I had time to work on the truck this weekend checked the tps voltage it was sitting at 1.18 closed so I adjusted it to .998 I don't know if it has had any effect had the battery disconnected to do wideband and upper control arms. So we'll see after a couple days

Well after setting tps voltage to .998 it seems to have cleaned up the shifts and it kicks down at a more reasonable pedal input we'll see if that lasts it still lags a little but the punisher valve body should put it where I want to be. Thanks for the replies
