Looks good, I've done one myself and have a second one that needs to be painted. I'm looking forward to meeting you at on of our SoCal get togethers.

Great paint job on the truck! First picture looks like a model second pic looks almost like the real thing. Be great to have a fall greet and meet soon before the rainy season hits. Wait... what am I thinking? We dont have those here.[smilie=om

I smoothed the rear window, color matched the surround and side mirror backs, used rubbing alcohol to remove the amber from the corner lights, painted the floor, wheel wells, grille, bed plastics and steps with SEM Bumper Coater. I also have a section of tonneau cover material so I can make a replica tonneau cover. I intended to use rattle can bed liner to replicate Belle's Line-X'd bed but decided that might be overboard. I didn't want to lose the fender and tailgate badges so I masked those off. The other die cast I have isn't preassembled so I can put the decals on it after I paint it so it will be better executed.

On the interior I painted the rear view mirror black and used VHT to replicate the tint (I should have used tint instead).

... You have some nice looking trucks. I like you signature pic, are you active duty? I retired in April
Thank you for the compliment. I EAS'd in December 2010 after eight years active duty. I can't take credit for the sig pic, that's the work of Old Timer (Mike).

Very cool, I'm building one a plastic model kit but I found this guy and figured he would do a much better job than me. My model I'm building is already a 20 footer. I'm starting to meet a few of the local guys online and learn the meet spots. So we should be meeting anytime soon. Thanks for your service!

Nice work on the "replica" truck. Congrats on retiring. I walked the red carpet in '06 myself. Hope to meet up on day at JBA.

I haven't had time to "build" one but I do have a black one fresh in the box and a silver one that would be the donor for extra parts. I bought an airbrush but haven't had the time to mess with it and hone my painting skills. Haven't used an airbrush in decades, and I mean a lot of years! I went to a model car forum a while back trying to find wheels that looked something like my Foose wheels, and I did get some light gauge aluminum to build a Gaylord Speedstur. The Harwood hood will have to be built up and faired in then painted.

Doing the ghost flames will be a very daunting task if I ever get to that point. Might be a project for the Winter.
