I have an 04 and have jlp drop shackles and trac bars. I flipped the shim for my 04, still had a vibration, then I removed the shim.
My question is if my pinion angle was off before I installed the trac bars, would it still be off if I removed the shim? If I remove the trac bars would anything happen to the pinion angle? Also, can someone post a pic of how a 2 degree negative pinion angle should look.

Not sure about the removal of the traction bars but here are a few pics of how to find the pinion angle.

1. Place angle finder on bottom of driveshaft and write down the reading.
2. Remove driveshaft.
3. Rotate the pinion so that the ujoint caps on the yoke are pointing up and down.
4. Set the angle finder on the face of the yoke where the u-bolts go through. Sometimes the face of the yoke is not perfectly flat so I lay a socket lengthwise where the ujoint caps fit then put the angle finder on the socket
5. Read the angle and write it down.
Determine the difference between these values then decide which way the pinion needs to be rotated to achieve the proper pinion angle
