I responded to a post by Dustin Whipple about their new blowers coming out on SVTPerformance.com before it was pulled. We e-mailed back and forth but basically he has a 2.3 and a 3.3 blower and is offering a rebate to KB owners who will pull off their KB and install one of his blowers. VERY confident that it will easily outperform the KB. I'm waiting on more info from Dustin right now but they should have some info on the site next week.

Anybody know more as far as the size of the rebate and pricing on these blowers?

Just subscribing to the thread. I'm interested in this. I've been contemplating fabricating a turbo, but would look at the Whipple first.

Okay, got a response from Dustin. Retail price is not nailed down yet but they're figuring them to come in at $3995 to $4395. They use a completely different upper manifold, coming from the rear and winding around the drivers side. They fit with no mods to the hood or firewall. They will move a LOT of air.

Group buy is out, but JDM has pre-ordered several units so possibly we can do something with him. The rebate for removing the KB is a couple hundred dollars and possibly a shirt/hat/?

Timeline is 4 weeks on the 2.3 blower and 6-8 on the 3.3.

I get confused when we talk Whipple, isn't there like (3) diff Company's involved here ???

This is Works CORRECT ????
I know we've been waiting for the Works 140 for @ 3yrs now,
and although Sal had one for quite some time, and ran and
held the Worlds Fastest Gen 2 Record FOR A LONG TIME with it,
I was told that project is canned. The 112's are out there and quite
a nice SC, but other than a few Prototype 140's, there is no 140

BUT I was also told Tommy from Outrageous
now has the Cobra Version Whipple's, AND is working on an L
mod ???

This is direct from Whipple. They have Cobra kits and Lightning kits all coming out at the same time. Not sure how big the 3.3 is, but I believe it's bigger than a 140 Works. I know a 2.3 in engine size is a 140 cid.

The price for the 2.3 kit is $3100-$3200.

Little more info.....the 2.3 smog-legal kit comes with 15 psi pulleys; it can be run to as many psi as a KB however and they have pulleys to do that. The 3.3 blower can be run to 35 psi!

Chris,

I've already seen the Cobra Whipple up close and personal,
It's real niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

WE MIGHT AS WELL GET USE TO IT, IT'S ON THE GEN III L :D

A little more info on it

WHILE OTHERS MAKE CLAIMS, WHIPPLE DELIVERS

That’s right, get the same supercharger that’s utilized on the new
Ford GT, 06’ Lighting and Cobra. With the industries largest, most
efficient, latest designed twin-screw superchargers, the Whipple can
produce incredible power levels with the stock 4.6L Cobra engine as
well as highly modified engines. Run 8-15psi of boost on pump gas
and have the ability to produce nearly 25psi for racing applications.

This is a direct bolt-on replacement with dramatically lower temps
and power consumption (hp) than the factory Eaton roots-type supercharger.
The Whipple Supercharger has passed the OEM
standards to be factory equipment on the Ford GT and will
provide you with unsurpassed reliability and durability, something
others cannot compare to. With the latest rotor, bearing and case
design, the Whipple 2300AX is simply the best available option.
Don’t settle for anything less!

Other companies make false claims and inaccurate judgments
regarding supercharger efficiency and kits. It’s a simple fact that
the Whipple-Lysholm supercharger has gone through more
endurance testing on the test stand and in the field and has
passed the strenuous standards of Ford as well as Eaton.

Whipple’s Cobra kit not only offers a better supercharger, but
also offers far more engineering to help produce more power per
pound of boost than any other supercharger. The Whipple
supercharger inlet is nearly 35% larger than other companies
inlet which offers a much lower possibility for starving the compressor
for air at high power levels. The Whipple discharge plate offers far
more plenum area as well as a much greater radius to help
distribute the air evenly over the entire intercooler core.
Whipple’s air bypass system also actually functions, it’s not cut
nearly 50% like others. This allows for lower discharge temps and
less parasitic losses. Don’t fall for the misleading advertising,
there is simply no comparison in quality and performance.

Available in satin black or polished finish.

Whipple Features:

INSTANT BOOST / HORSEPOWER & TORQUE AT ANY RPM

Largest displacement screw compressor available.

Direct bolt on replacement.

CAD designed air inlet for maximum air flow, almost twice the airflow capability as competitors.

Available for stock throttle body or mono blade.

More power, cooler charge temp, less power consumption/parasitic
loss than stock Eaton.

90% efficiency.

Over 80hp gain at 13psi.

Best $ value bolt on. More power than headers, cam, throttle body,
MAF meter, chip and filter COMBINED.

No "boost drop off" (stock Eaton is 13 psi @ 4000 and only 10.5 psi @ 6000).

No "boost lag" as with centrifugals and turbos.

Boost range 8 - 25 psi.

No need for separate oil reservoir system or “catch can”.

Whisper quiet.

Billet oversized bypass valve.

Internally lubricated. No tapping holes in pan required.

Factory fit and finish.

Available polished or black satin.

Stock fuel system is ok for 13psi
