I have a chance to pick up a 5.4 Navigator Long block for free. I know it lost compression on 2 cylinders so it will need some work. Is a Navigator motor any kind of upgrade for us lightning guys? I have always heard they are strong motors. Should I jump at it or is it a waste of time and should leave it alone?
Thanks

The only upgrade would be the four valve heads...But, that could get expensive, I figure free is a good price on anything.

That is very true on the free part! I have always heard of people putting navi motors in stangs and running extreme amounts of boost because there where so strong.

Blocks probably worthless, but the heads are probably worth salvaging as is the water pump. Heads will NOT work with our blowers or manifolds. But if you have thoughts about going turbo, those heads are a good start.
