Hi everyone. I had sent off my lower grille a few weeks ago for chroming to math the HD upper and wanted to show the results. If anyone is interested in the company and specifics, contact me via PM or I can post their info on here with contact info.

Thanks,

Chris

Looks like a quality job but it would match a lot better and look cleaner if the vertical bars and the backing portions on each side were painted black.

I am thinking of doing this too in black chrome but cutting out those portions you mentioned on the sides and painting the fascia in that area flat\satin black. Then after it is chromed cut a scotch pad into a strip tape off and brush the bars and paint them too. On the top grille I plan to cut up 2 factory grilles and eliminate the FORD emblem all together. I also have a NOS 99/00 lower and upper I will get done at the same time just to see what they look like chromed. Also use the carbon fiber emblems my truck will be repaint back to DSG once finished with all of the major mods.

Had mine chromed several years ago and as some have said, just too much chrome on the sides. I cut out templates using thin card stock to fit into the flat backing area between the bars on each side and transposed the templates to 0.25mm high gloss black carbon fiber veneer sheets e/w adhesive backing. The 0.25mm CF can be cut with standard scissors. Also painted the vertical bars flat black.
This toned it down to perfectly match the Harley upper.

Thanks for the tips guys and will most definitely be blacking out the vertical portions to bring it in line with the HD grill. Just wanted folks out there to know that services exist for the chroming and are reasonably priced between $300-375 with shipping.

Ok, ignore the spreading puddle of oil from my sploded motor :shitstormretarded

The lower grille has that cheapo chrome molding that you can buy from Vatozone for about $10 per roll stuck to the horizontal bars.

Unless you are on your hands & knees looking directly at it, you can't tell what it is.

Looks great, cheap to do and peels off if you don't like it.
