I have been thinking and thinking for a while on a setup for my truck. Well, I came across a deal that I couldn't pass up. I am going turbo. 80mm turbo. and I need some help trying to figure out what cam to run. Not sure if mine is good to stay in it or not. I want the rough idle to it but still have the performance band in it as well. This is my setup right now.

5.4L DSS Long Block

*5.4L Super modular balanced to racing tolerances and blueprinted
*Level 10 race prepped block
*Billit aluminum Main Support System
*Custom ARP main studs
*Deck equalized and squared
*Deck plate bored and honed
*4340 forged 6.658" Full Floating H-beam Rods w/ ARP 2000 bolts
*Forged DSS #4615 Pro-Light pistons (max quench - 18cc)
*Forged crank with 4.165" stroke
*Moly E-916K rings
*Trimetal BB317J Rod Bearings
*Trimetal BC393J Main Bearings
*Complete port and polish PI heads
*Anderson F-42 AFM blower cam
*13 psi on stock EATON supercharger.

This is what I am going with:

-80mm Innovative B/B Turbo
-Turbo Blanket
-Oil feed and return
-piping/clamps.
-Dual electric puller fans with Madenterpises fan controller
-Tail v44 wastgate
-50mm X02 racing B/V
-AEM Truboost Boost controler
-Custom Intake Hat
-SCT3000 Maf/ inline with intercooler piping.
-2 Intercoolers
-3.5 race muffler
-Ford Racing shorty 2V headers
-80lb injectors
-rails and lines

Looking for the rough aggressive idle but no performance loss. Would the blower cam still work with this new set up or no? Just want to find out so I can start looking into the cams and try to start getting prices. I am buying all of this while I am over here so when I get home I can install and go.[smilie=3g

I have no idea what you need , but usually a rough or choppy idling camshaft w/ alot of duration or overlap is a trade-off for low end to mid-range power. Good luck w/whatever you do. Darrell

and to answer your question, I'm almost 100% sure that a stock cam will perform better with the turbo than the F42

Stock cams would probably work better with the turbo...If the cams you have are lopey sounding that means you have some overlap for sure....You might consider a little looser converter for the turbo setup, something more like 3,500.
