I've seen a couple of Lightnings out there with the combination entry door handles. how hard is this project? and im guessing you use an expedition door handles?

I believe you can install them on the 99-00 Lightnings, but I am not certain. The 01-04's had them from the factory.

^^^^Incorrect, my 01 does not have a keyless enty keypad.

My '01 had the wiring in the door for it. The quickest way to tell if you are able to do it is to get on your back and look up on the side of the wall beneath the dash above the emergency brake lever. Theres a box there with a white label with your 5 digit code on it. If that's there, all you need is a handle and pad bud. IIRC, 03-04 came standard with them.

VSM-Creme colored box that was mentioned above.....should have 5 digit code on it, if you have a VSM then should be wiring in door to hook up keypad to.

They all are pre wired. The only thing is the donor handle. The harness may only be about a foot long and you will need to extend it so it reaches the factory door connector at the front of the door.

02-04 lightnings came with them. My 02 lightning had one..

So my 2000 should be pre wired for it. All I haved to do is look for a creme colored box with a 5 digit code. Got it

They all have the module.

If you have a keyless entry handheld remote............ you have RKE and the factory code will be printed on the module.

I see the beige/cream box and I see the code I just cant find the round green plug in the driver door did 1999 not come with the plug ???

Remove the door speaker It’s at about the 1 o’clock poss above it. The connection will have a plug in it.

I really like mine, and use it often.

So do I. Start it in the garage, lock the doors, Come back a few minutes later and use the keypad to get back in. Although I always have two keys to whatever vehicle I'm driving. And I only put one key in the vehicles ignition, not a key ring full of keys. All my usual keys stay on a very firm thingamabob on my belt. My vehicle keys go on a lanyard around my neck. I still have three LightningRodder lanyards. One white and two grey.
