My keyless entry door pad has not worked for a number of years and I would like to fix it. Is it true that there are batteries on the back of the unit? If so, I think it is safe to assume the battery is the cause. I believe the part number is:
YL3Z14A626CA

If not, can I put a Power Probe on it or a similar tool to confirm? Are there any common issues related to the keyless entry that I should check first?

No batteries.
Make sure you are using the correct entry code, under the dash above the parking brake, see the white box with the code numbers on it.
this is an old how-to

on the right side click on the how-to, keyless entry. Towards the bottom of the page how to program it.
