First let me say I've heard so much Bad @ RPM I've never bought from them,
but it turned out they were the only one who had it, (if it is a 10LB ?)

I knew I was in trouble right away when they processed "3" orders
FOR THE SAME THING, and sent "3" confirming e-mails, for 3 diff orders,
all for the same ring.

The ring in itself is confusing in the way, I still dont know what I got ???
BUT I DO KNOW IT'S BIGGER THAN WHAT I HAD
and I ended up making out very well, hehehehehe.....

On this link it shows it as a 10.00 Pulley, I assumed it was 10LB's ???

https://www.rpmoutlet.com/ezRetail/search/view.php?msg_id=240

Yet on this link it doesn't show it

http://www.rpmoutlet.com/lightaspm.htm

Ok so I write them immediately to say HEY you processed 3 of the same orders,
(Still waiting a week later for a reply, GOT NONE YET)

OK so I called the following morning to get some nasty totally unhelpfull
skirt, she claims only one was actually processed and it already shipped.
So I wait it out and WAM it comes today.

I thought I was in trouble immediately when I saw this

However I opened it up and found this

Can you say
Free Hub
Free Hardware
Free Torque Converter Lock Down Tool
Free Gatorback Belt

and all for $79.95 :D

Dont really know if it's a 10lb or not,
Sorry the ruler was out of center and pic at a bad angle, but it's basically 10"

as they claim in to be, AND IT IS BIGGER THAN WHAT I HAD, which was a 8lb.
(I also have a 6lb Ring)

Here's all three rings on top of each other

Not alot bigger, but big enough my old Belt didn't fit, I used the one they sent,
I thought it fit, EXCEPT

UPDATE

I stopped writting there and just went for a ride.

NOW I'M DUMPING BOOST BIG TIME )*#$(%@($%@($%(@$%(@$
It'll go to 10 (at about 1/8 pedal, hehehehe) and then the more you push down,
the more you hear it going (whining) off and on
Wee ----- Wee ---- Wee ---
You can clearly here it dumping Boost ??? WTF ???

Either the belt is slipping like a mo fo, and I mean BIG TIME, or
my Boost Acuator has been over worked and exploded, hehehehe

EITHER WAY I'M SCREWED IF I CANT FIX IT IN A DAY OR TWO
FFW THIS WEEKEND, and I'm suppose to go to Eng Town Fri Night for
some testing *&#%#(%#%&(#%&^)#%^(%^)#*%

I noticed on idle, if I open the hood and give it a little gas off and on,
my Boost Acuator freaks out and opens and closes like a mother
IS THAT NORMAL ???

HELP......

(@$%@$%@)$&%@^$(@%$()@%$)@&$%(@$%(@$

Oh by the way, the Reciept says 8+ lbs

Who the hell knows what I got, but it's bigger.

BUT now I'm dumping all my Boost after 10lbs ?????

Some final pic's

Rob, you could always un hook the vacumm line and tie wrapp the boost dump valve. Take it for a quick ride and see if the boost dropps off.

If it dose it's not the dump valve.

Sounds like the belt is slipping. Is there any of that black dust by the upper S/C pulley?

You should hear my 11.5 pulley it sounds like a jet taking off.

Let me know I kind of have allot of exper. with the MP blowers.

Thanks Guys, good place to start

Unfortunately now it's pitch black out there and no more messing with it tonight
@#(%^(@#$%(@$%@$(%@^$

Yes Suavy, even know I have NEVER lost any Boost before, and it goes to 18 instantly
and steadily climbs to 22 lbs USUALLY, YES I have been finding A LOT of dust, even with the Bracket.

I may try to look at it and squeeze the old belt on tomorrow at lunch time, if weather allows it, and WOW my old belt is 500 miles young and already in bad shape and lots of the Gatorback nubs are already broken off, it's DEF been getting a work out, hehehehehe

Here's some dust from a pic I took tonight (before I cleaned it),
OR RAN IT with the new Lower Ring.

The pulley is bigger, but not bigger to create these problems, the one thing I noticed is the breaker bar still had pressure on it even after the new belt was installed tonight, that has never happen before. I actually had to pry it out with a huge screw driver, maybe the belt is too big ??? but it feels tight as schitt.....

Why now *)#&%#(%#(%*^#()%&^#)%&^#)%&^#%)*&^%)(*&#%

I would have done the same thing Mike
Good Move, I like your style :LOL

I WILL be selling the Brand New Silver Hub (I left my old Black one on)
and one of the 8lb Rings, (prob the black one) along with the Brand New Hardware and Converter Lock up piece for the same 80.00 I paid for it.

All I'm keeping is the Silver Ring "cause it's a tiny bit bigger", + the Belt (if I can use it)
Look me up in a day or two if your interested when I got it all worked out....

BTW my Black 8lb Ring I just bought from Sal and paid more than that. It's basically BRAND NEW,
only a few hundred miles on it.

Can't help with your problem, but it is advertised as an 8lb lower pulley in every link you provided...It may be bigger than your other 8lb'er, but there are some slight differences in sizes/brands.

Ya it seems I thought it was something it's not &@$%@*&$%@$

DOES ANYONE MAKE A TRUE 10lb "RING" ???

After some talking on the phone tonight and re-thinking it out
the problem has to be the belt.

I had a 4080680 and put on a new 4080700
for the slight diff in the size of the two rings, there's no way I need it that big, I'll try and get the orig belt back on tomorrow and expect that to correct the prob, I HOPE....

Plus I always use the same 1/2 breaker bar in the same position to remove the belt. Even know I should'nt, I always let it sit against the Intercooler tank while the belts off, and then once it's back on the tension is off the bar and I pull it out with ease.

Today with the new larger belt, when I put it back on and released the tension, the Bar was spring loaded STILL against the intercooler tank (I really got to stop doing that, hehehehe) and I had to pry the breaker bar out of the hole with a huge screwdriver. That tells me the tensioner is no longer sitting where it use to be, and might actually be out all the way, with NO or very little tension on the belt.

Sounds like the belts simply too big, MAKES SENSE ???
I'll report back tomorrow......

I love these events, it's so great to meet people finally, aint it. :smt023
I'm looking foward to meeting also, as for racing, I am only going to be tuned for mid 11's at best this weekend, so don't kid yourself, I'll be getting dusted by many......

UPDATE

WOO HOO CAN YOU SAY INSTANT 20LBS NOW UPON STABBING IT
Didn't have the chance to stay in it long enough to watch it max out,
(kind of hard finding the space to wot for extended period of time on the short ride to work)

BUT IT'S ALL BETTER, and does appear to have picked up some more boost, :smt026
I saw 20+ twice on a simple stab a sec, and WOW you catch 10 at like idle,
OR SOMETHING :smt041

WOW.

What was the problem ROB?

btw: Gatorback belts.

When a belt and pulley are dry and perfectly inline with each other... it's no different than a dragstrip and a slick.  So why would we want to go to the dragstrip with a all season tire.. aka "gatorback belt"?

As a Former FEAD engineer (front end accessory drive),  it's my opinion that anybody who wants to suddenly change engine rpms. (sudden acceleration and hard shifts) Really ought to be using smooth belts and smooth pullies.  It's really a simple fact.  The more contacting surface area the great the friction between the two.

WOO HOO, THANKS SUAVY  :smt023 :smt023

:LOL

You know thats why I try not to work in the dark to much, hehehehehe.
I actually put the Ring on at lunch time yesterday, but didn't get to snug up
the Bolts till after work, then later take it for a ride.

When I put the new belt on it felt ok, yes maybe loser than before, but nothing insane where you would say this is nfg. But man I guess once you start throwing all that Boost and Torque at it,  it just sliped away.

It was the weirdest sound in the world, you would stap it, and it would go to 10 and then you wouldn't hear the whine anymore  :smt017 then the guage would totally drop off,
to like 0  [smilie=eek4.gif] Even if you rolled into it slowly it would go to 10 and then WAM, nothing, glad it was something so simple, THANKS ALL.
Hoping to get in on the Dyno late tonight and tweak it for the weekend  [smilie=fingersx.gif]

Good info Rich, and when you think about it, it does make sense.
I plan on picking up an extra 68" plain belt because this Gatorback (which is less than 1K old),
is already ripping the little knobbys's off it. And judging by the dust, it was slipping a little too. ;)
