According to SAE Intl. the coating is about 150 microns thick. I'm not sure until I pull the motor, but how much can be honed if the cylinders need it? How much material is removed on a light honing?

from my understanding any damage to the cylinder walls and you need to sleeve the motor....

It's about .006" thick you can hone it about 1/2 a thousandth, after that it's sleeves. We do this all the time with our Cobra Jet engine builds.
