2002 ford hd charged with 99000 miles all stock. What is a good head and cam upgrade package for daily driving 40hp gains from stock, but not too much fuel consumption. Im sure sombody has done this to a high milage engine, right? Am I playin with fire? Should I go ahead with a forged bottom end rebuild?

PS I love the supercharger .

you don't need heads and cams for 40 hp buddy...just get a tuner and slap a 6# lower and get a good tune...you'll smile like a kid.....ps...that will net you more than 40 hp too.

6# on a HD is only 12# boost guys. You don't need no built nothing for that. I ran 14# for 4 years no problem on stock bottom end. 12# is a no sweat deal.

Yep...wakes ours up like 4# does yours...no big deal but a real nice increase with NO loss of reliability and better fuel economy than stock in most cases.

If it doesn't have an oil seperator on it, a good intercooler cleaning is in order and that will lower IC temps and stop timing pulls.

Any pointers on tuner and pulley brands? Tuners in Fort Polk, Louisiana area?

I like the twin screw option. Pushing 16 lbs. through my daily driver with no issues.

I have a 6# lower ring and new belt i'll ship to you for $90. You will still need a hub (JLP or LFP i think) and a tuner...i suggest SCT, Sniper or Predator. BEFORE you buy one, ask the tuner you are getting the tune from, they will usually make a package deal.

you could always do like Stew and push 20+ on stock block...I wouldn't try it though, lol

now that's funny, you aren't going to get good mileage while you're making boost, think of it as "smiles per gallon" per DolSVT00 :bigtu

There’s Vince @ L&S Automotive in Baton Rouge, L&S is a site vendor. http://www.lnsauto.com/main_performance.shtml

Up for a drive, then there’s Mike @ PSI Motorsports in Webster, TX, just Southeast of Houston, PSI is also a site vendor. http://www.psimotorsportstx.com/.

As mentioned earlier an email tune can also be had from site vendors like Amazon Tuning http://www.lightningrodder.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26603 and Woodbine Motorsports http://www.lightningrodder.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50850

if you don't do mods (like me) you will not have to worry about blowing up the engine
