It depends. Check the timing, if its been bumped to 14 degrees you need premium. Mine still had the stock unaltered timing and I continue to run 87 with no problems.

So what happens if you are driving and you flip the switch? It will just show the fuel in the other tank on the gauge and continue running?

OR does the truck need to be off etc. Like lets say I just want to check on the other tank, how do I do it?

Stupid question but I figured I would ask haha.

When you flip switch it starts pumping from the other tank. It doesnt need to be turned off.

A wise man once told me keep a 1/4 at least in the other tank or the fuel pump will go bad.
A life lesson told me never fill them both up $$$
