FYI: Just for the record, while it is still fresh in my mind.....

I drained the transmission pan, converter, blew out the coolant lines, radiator and small air to oil cooler (The complete Lightning trans system)

It took 19 1/2 Qts to refill the system.

(I had heard from 12 to 23 Qts mentioned)

The fluid was brown and nasty smelling, so I wanted to run cheap fluid for a while during the new motor break in period. Then do a change over to synthetic.

trans fill complete

I did the trans service first taking pan off installing new filter(strainer) adding I think six then disconnecting a trans cooler line with funnel in trans fill and twelve quarts of b&m trick shift uncapped and ready.fired her up with hoses draining into a graduated glass container(5gallon) and poured em in as fast as I could.so 18 quarts total before fluid came out clean and another six quarts to top it off including the remote mount napa gold 1622 spin on transmission filter I installed to top it off.trans works great now:bigtu
