Please remove eventually but I need to rant for now.

It has been brought to my attention, that your website www.nitrousdirect.com has taken copyrighted images off of our site for use on yours.
On your home page, the top banner contains one of our customers images (red dodge viper), along with the two images at the bottom
of the homepage, that same viper, and the image on the purge kit section. Please remove all of these images, as you are infringing
upon copyright laws. All images used on www.racetested.com are property of Racetested unless proper permission has been granted.
If the images are not removed within 24 hrs we will be contacting our attorney.

borrow a few pics from the net meself But thats not the point, the point is you asked him nicely to remove them, and instead of him asking if he could use them, or say hey I'msorry.

No forum and he is clueless about nitrous as well. Just a broker looking to profit from selling parts. He somehow got in touch with the CNC shop that I use and asked what parts could be made. Our CNC guy sent him a sample of our gauge manifold and some other parts. As you can see from the link the guy took the liberty of posting our black anodized manifold for sale when he has no right to do this either. I hope no one wants more than the 1 sample as this is all he has or will get.

There is a difference in using pictures and stealing pictures to sell a product. As you say the reply is what irks me. I'm the ass when the guy stole from me. Are we in bizarro world?

My attorney side... notify him again and tell him your requests and that you wish to amicably settle the issue, give him so many days to respond (usually ten business days), inform him of your intent of action if he does not comply, then follow through! Save all of your e-mail correspondence from this guy.

My other side... time to hack and shut down ONE LAME website, ohh and redirect all of his traffic to animal porn site :LOL

That is to funny as my web guy suggested both scenerios also. If the images he stole were linked to our site we could have changed the names and re-directed the old names to porn, but he downloaded them instead and re-loaded them.

My first intinct was of Rob's post above as that's just me, but the lawyer path seems the most appropriate. I can now see why so many things get tainted with rules and regulations because of jerks like this.

You can still use the title bar to save or control click using a mac computer.

I can always add a watermark on all our images but I really don't want our logo across every image. I don't even care if anyone uses our images as long as it's not another nitrous company trying to sell their products.

The latest comments by this guy. Can you believe he runs a business and has customers with this attitude? It's broken English but consider the source. The lawsuit part is to funny as I have never sued anyone in my life.

You should contact the webmaster of his site and the hosting company, they will fix this for you without a lawyer..

You may be right Bill. My web guy has done just that.

The worst part is the owner called me and all it ended up as is a shouting and swearing match with no resolve. This guy mentioned how much money he has and how many sales more he has then us yet he still needs to steal our imgaes. Now my nerves are shot. What a learning experience. For now on I'll just move on as the stress level isn't worth the trouble.

I know how you feel , I've been in the same situation. You can digitally watermark your images, it will not show visibly but you can track them where ever they go on the web if they are posted.. Just a thought.

I thought about a watermark and an invisible one will cost money and add more work but looks like the most sensible route to go.

Thanks for the supportive comments by everyone. An administrator can remove this thread whenever they feel as it doesn't belong here and I'm done ranting.
