I'm a litlte baffled as to the point of this thread. I guess you adjusted the boost actuator and picked up a little boost :smt102.
The best way to adjust the boost actuator is to remove the SC and adjust the set screw so it allows the bypass butterfly to close fully. Pre-loading the actuator is personal preference. I'm inclined to think it nothing more than placebo effect on a truck with a properly adjusted butterfly.
FYI... the top port of the actuator can be plumbed with a vacuum/boost reference. Theoretically this might help boost come on quicker since the actuator's internal spring is assisted in closing. Personally I think this is also a placebo effect.
