Hey everyone,
I found out tonight I have a 3# upper pulley on the L.(got the L used) I want to do a 4# Lower,and keep
the upper one as is. Would this be safe on a stock motor??
I really wouldn't want to blow my motor [smilie=fingersx.gif]
Thanks,
Bryan

The only way you can have a 3lb Upper is if the fins were filed down on your eaton,
WHAT SIZE IS IT ?

2.93 is Stock
2.80 is 2LB
2.7 and smaller demand the fins are filed down
ANY PICS ???

I ran a 4 lower + 2 upper for years, many do and it's safe enough with the proper tune

Hey Rob,
Whats up man? Thanks for the answer....I'll take a pic of it.
I can't post pics though....could I send it to ya?
I just measured it...it's 2 7/8 inside edge to inside edge.
about 3 1/4 out side edge.
Thanks,
Bryan :-?

No not at all Bro  :smt023
It's just anything smaller than 2.80 would actually hit the fins on the snout, so to go smaller
you must file the fins at the end of the snout UNDER THE PULLEY AREA.
Thats only to give you the needed clearance, you can still take it off and put any pulley you
wish on it  :D

Well taken it off may be easier said than done, you would need a special puller tool to do
that. Does the pulley have one center bolt, or 4 or 5 allan head bolts to take it off.
It may be a quick change upper, which would then mean the hub stays on after the pulley
comes off, then the hub needed to be pulled, or you must buy a larger pulley to fit that hub

Yes of course you can send me the pic's and I'll post them [email protected]
but there's no need to, one of the features of this Forum is you can show pic's WITHOUT
having a Picture Gallery here.

The box that we type our replys in, has  "Additional Options..." right under it to the left

Click it and you'll see this "Attach:   Browse (more attachments)"

You can then click (more attachments)" and open as many as 5 boxes

Then you simply hit "Browse" point to the picture anywhere ON YOUR COMPUTER

Click Post, and wam the pic is posted :D

(BTW, you need a special tool to install that too)

There you go Bryan, I made them smaller for you :smt023

Hey Rob,
I just measured it...it's 2 7/8 inside edge to inside edge.
about 3 1/4 out side edge.
Thanks,
Bryan

Bryan if it measures 2.78, then it's a 2.80 (2lb Upper)
Sometimes people see up to 3lbs of extra boost with it, but it's a 2 lb upper
(some even claim it to be more like a 1-1/2 lb pulley)
With the CORRECT tune you can add a 4lb Lower, but it's extremely important to have the right tune, by a L tuner, and for you to understand there is always a chance of something
going south with that much boost.

I ran a 2+4 for years, many have, you just have to make sure you run the high octane 24/7 (hopefully 94) and dont over do it with the timing ;)
