2019 Corvette Grand Sport - A Miracle Detailing - CQuartz Finest Reserve

This is an unusual car. It is a manual transmission in the new 2019 Corvette lighter blue.
It arrived covered in water spots and dried on love bug guts from cross-state driving.

He had not washed the car or cleaned off any of the bug guts but he did state...
"They were a lot worse before I drove through the two thunderstorms."

Video - (iPhone6 vid walkaround w/audio) Please click YT gear (bottom right) and watch in 1080p

Carpro Bug-Out and a 2 face microfiber towel removed 98% of the dried bug guts.

A few minor scratches inspected and corrected.

And the prep-wash process begins...

Taped, compound, and polished

In this case Scholl's S3 for the compound.

Paint coated and cooked with Cquartz Finest Reserve

The front

Merlin Shot

The Side

The End

Thanks for looking...

What do you charge for this service and what could one expect to be a fair or good price. I had a shop quote me here in Phx, AZ for like $800 which included paint correction on my newly painted Lightning. Plus they had like a tiered service for what they claimed was more durable and longer lasting for their most expensive ceramic coating.

I felt like I was being BS'd for their services and prices but then again not sure how this stuff works. Your advice/opinion would be great.

Short basic is $65 per hour for paint correction...I need to look at the vehicle to give a price.
I try to figure out how many hours it will take to polish the vehicle. It could be 10-50 hours.

Different ceramic coating products have different value. Premium products are more than off-the-shelf.
Try https://cqfinest.com/find-an-installer/ to find an installer (or two) near you and get local pricing.

I got you. So a car with good paint, what's your typical charge? I just want a price range to work off of. Ceramic coating is a relatively new concept to the consumer base and because of that there are probably places that want to overcharge. For me, I don't mind paying a fair price but I also don't want to be taken for a fool with my money.

I guess that Corvette would be a good example as far as what one can expect to pay for a car in great shape. I can't image that car not being really solid with only requiring minimal prep work.

For me, every vehicle is different. You would truly be surprised and the time and effort I put into 98% of "new" cars.
I've had vehicles with 30 miles on the ODO that took me over 40+ hours to correct what the factory/dealership did.

Details vary for each vehicle and everyone is looking for something different.
For that reason, for me, quotes can only be given upon inspection of the vehicle.

I would contact the CQuartz Authorized/Certified shops in your area https://cqfinest.com/find-an-installer

Actually not true in this case.
This car was covered in dried on bug guts that took hours to safely melt the exoskeleton and remove.
I was mainly concerned with the fact that the paint would be etched and damaged beyond repair.
I don't like being the one that has to tell the owner of a "brand new" Vette that it needs repainting.

Pricing for "ceramic coating" is not all the same. For me, there is not an "off-the-shelf" / one-size fits all price.
Pricing will also vary depending on location. For example LA & NY etc. will be more than rural Mississippi.
If you're shopping for a "price"...someone once told me..."If you want to pay for a hot dog, you'll get a hot dog."
Being Cquartz Certified (especially Cquartz Finest Reserve) is a big deal and very few detailers obtain that level.

Again, as I stated, please use the installer map, find the Cquartz certified detailers in your area and get quotes.
There is a high standard for CQuartz Certified installers, honesty, integrity, etc. You'll know you have great folks.
