well we started tonight on building a custom 1/2" mdf..

Well im 6' 4" tall...and have to have the seat all the way back and then recline all the way back...after 6 hours we got the box...done (pics soon to be coming) will be housing (2) JL AUDIO 10w0v2's and an alpine new PDX 4.150...with front ads mids and highs (componetc).....should sound very nice.

Also box will be resanded the covered in almost a perfect gray vinyl....fits way good..and even better then the thunder box. will have a step by step..on pics etc as we do all of this.

this will sound great!!

I wish we could have placed a 6 1/2" and a 4" and tweeter all in the doors...but no room!!!

so now its just the 6 1/2" and tweetwer

We have to finish fiber glassing it,sanding it, and then bondo....then vinyl. Found the closest color I can get to match in gray!

Then we have to wire the truck, but will try and take pics of everything!

Nice, get some t-nut screws from Home Depot to mount your subs. If you remove the sub 2-3 times the mdf starts to fall apart. With the T-nuts this is no problem.

Got the doors done and the radio wired tonight!
So components are in.... Just have to finish wiring the truck...and install circuit breaker...and...finish the box and amp rack...then vinyl it and install....will be done by Friday!!

With new tint.... Can't wait for it to be dry and no rain then I can detail it and get some nice pics! let me know what everything thinls of the new system...

Looks great man I am going to start on my stereo build tomorrow I hope it turns out as good as yours......One questions how did you secure the box I am having trouble figuring out what to do for that as I dont want to cut the carpet or drill holes in the truck.....Thanks

We bolted it to the truck...it will require drilling some small holes.or shoot some screws through the bottom. Just make sure that you check before hand..and make sure you do not hit any lines. It has happened to people before that they have screwed in an amp or whatever and that hit a brake line or fuel line...so please be careful and take your time. should you have any other questions please feel free to pm me...and I will help in anyway I can.. good luck..and hope your project works out well!

Nope way to many measurements....and way to make wild angles...we did a lot of custom work!! It's wrapped in a very close matching gray vinyl? We only sprayed in black...behind the amp rack panel....so there would be no way to see any of the mdf!!
