So I was driving to work this morning (very slow and easy) and while coming up the final hill to my work..... I lost the #4 plug outta the head. I limped it on up to the parking lot thinkin an exhaust gasket or something let loose (had a small exhaust leak ever since I bought the truck, thought it finally went). Started lookin under the hood and saw the coil broken from its mount. pulled the plug out and the electrode is collapsed and pushed the ceramic up thru the bodt of the plug itself, which makes me think "interference problem". I'm gonna boroscope the motor today after work and PRAY I don't have to go internal and fix sh*t. Wish me luck... I'm gonna need it. :smt089

Even though I have NO clue what collapsed the plug, it looks to be that the threads are stripped out of the heads.....fix for this?? does somebody make a kit to fix this are am I lookin for a head? Thanks

I am going through this right now with my #3. I am replacing all my heads.

if the money was better, I'd probably pull mine off, work them over, and through in a cam.... I think i am gonna try and helicoil it for now and go another route after my mustang gets on the road.

Aluminum time cert is the best fix...But, if you are going to have the heads off the helicoil will work.

Do a search on Time Sert here and start reading

They're expensive but they work. And there are Brothers that will rent you the tool and insert from the very expensive Kit some had to buy to fix there's

oh. sorry, forgot to update. I helicoiled the head, and everything is A-ok..... the true test will be tomorrow night, planning on doin some running at KCIR.

I'm goin to KCIR friday night. Anybody got some drag radials I can borrow? haha.... Amanda would spank me in her truck.... I did Race Shawn though, leaving our last GTG.... that was a good one.
