So an 02 - 03 HD rear console, 3 pc. design, fairly sturdy.
I am thinking here which could be dangerous of course.
What if I flipped it over tape off from the inside facing out to seal all that matters and slowly filled this thing up from the bottom with expansion foam to fill all cavities and make this baby solid, it would be about and inch at it's thinnest and over 2" + at it's widest.
Trim back all mounting areas once cured, port it before or after, make a trim ring, drop a sub in it, blah, blah.
Do you think it will hold up?
W3 10" JL Sub. JL 250/1 Amp.
Pic's coming right up.

I don't think the foam would make it rigid enough for a subwoofer enclosure. Maybe do the foam then fiberglass or fleece mat over the foam to seal it up well? Get me some pics so I can see it better. I'd have to see it for sure, I have a hard time picturing things like this in my head...especially lately.

But there is going to be way too much flex with just the foam, that I'm almost 99% sure of. Thats why the JL Stealboxes are pretty thick fiberglass.

You want at LEAST 1.25 cu ft. to go ported with a 10W3 and have it sound good.

We are as well, we thought about building a wood box, tape up whatever on the console to keep the ooze factor down and then fill in around the console with wet sand. That way it wont bulge out the sides of the console or top, etc....??
Spray expansion foam the F out of it..

So install a subwoofer in the top?

http://www.caraudiomag.com/technical/caep_0803_subwoofer_enclosure/index.html

I'm in some car audio forums too but car audio mag actually has alot of good how-to articles on there site. The magazine went under, I used to get it back in the mid-late 90's but they went ghetto and started showing just rich people ugly systems.

Exactly, I just want to eliminate, flex. I think the foam will add enough density too the encloser, however a couple buddy's said it would absorb to much.
Which with the hard shell of the plastic liner I think it will be fine???
Then what style?

Still looking for idea's on this or should I just build a cube to fit inside the outer shell?

I thought about all this before I got the Stealthbox for my truck, and was going to make my own fiberglass/wood box to fit inside. For sound, wood is the best for sure. In your application I think I'd make a wood box and then just a nice trimplate on the top out of masonite or 1/4" thick mdf or something covered with black vinyl or painted.
