Cool ***Plug & Play E-fan Harness Kits***

Hey everyone,

So I had this thread here to see what the interest was in me building some e-fan harness kits.... (Any interest in e-fan harness kits?)

I finished the harness design, and ready to pop some of these out, so this thread is the details on getting one.

*NOTE* This version is only for single speed dual fans, NOT dual speed single fans. The harness design is completely different for dual speed single fans. I can entertain the idea of building some of those down the road, but for right now, I need to move through these first for single speed dual fans.

Now before folks even get into it, the kit is based around using OEM Ford Raptor electric fans, which move an ENORMOUS amount of air, and the fans are actually relatively cheap at under $200 on Amazon for legit OEM Ford parts (RF-269 https://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-RF...keywords=RF269). My kit comes with the OEM Ford Raptor Fan connectors integrated into the kit, for plug & play installation. Unfortunately the connectors are pricey at $35-40 a pop and you need 2, but it's included in my harness (WPT-778 https://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-WP...A68WD7Z0BZ7SA0).

Now the wild card, I am going to offer the kit without the OEM Ford Connectors as well, so you can use this kit on ANY dual electric fan kit and not just the OEM Raptor fans (Spal, Flex-a-lite, etc.). I will provide the harness to the fans terminated with 10-12 AWG female connectors for those requests, rather than the OEM connector (and a lower price to reflect it).

Description:
This is a 100% plug & play installation, comes with color directions, the harness lays out exactly where it needs to go, there's no wiring that you have to do on your own or figure out, everything either plugs in or attaches to a post/stud. Attention to detail and quality are over the top, anyone who's bought my other items (linelock switch kits, or battery cable kits) knows the attention to detail and quality of my stuff.....this harness takes it up even another notch!

Operation:
This kit controls each fan individually, and has a switch to toggle between three different modes.
-Mode 1: Auto/Off
---Fan 1 automatically turns on/off based off engine temp, or a/c override
---Fan 2 stays off
-Mode 2: Auto/Auto
---Fan 1 automatically turns on/off based off engine temp, or a/c override
---Fan 2 automatically turns on/off based off engine temp, or a/c override
-Mode 3: Auto/On
---Fan 1 automatically turns on/off based off engine temp, or a/c override
---Fan 2 stays on all the time, so long as the key ignition is on

The advantages to this are it allows minimizing the load on the electrical system depending upon your conditions. Cold weather or highway use or track use, Mode 1 Auto/Off should be sufficient cooling and draw the least power. Warm weather or daily commuting use, Mode 2 Auto/Auto will allow plenty of cool down when needed. Gridlock traffic, towing, or hottest day of the year, Mode 3 Auto/On will give it the extra cooling margin by keeping 1 fan on continuously and the other will still toggle on/off based off engine temp or a/c override. You don't have to worry about forgetting the switch on either, because it still needs a 12v switched key-on signal to run the fans, so if you prefer mode 3 best, you can still leave it like that all the time, etc.

Construction:
As with all my stuff, this isn't your walmart aisle of wiring supplies, or your red/blue/yellow plastic insulated butt splice connectors, or your pepboys hard plastic split loom, or your no-name 3 dollar relay. The relays are integrated into what is called a "Power Relay Module", which contains a solid state relay potted in an assembly that holds the fuse, as well as has plug-in connections for control and output. These are rated for 70 amps each (Raptor fans are only rated at 50 amps, so plenty of margin on the relay). They're made by Bussmann a well known electronics company, and they're north of $25 a pop, and the kit uses 2 of them. The feed wire to the Power Relay Modules is 6 AWG welding cable, you'll have no issues with voltage drop to the fans! The control wires are all automotive grade 16 AWG wiring (not your everyday stranded 16 AWG wire!). The shrink tubing is adhesive lined, chemical resistant, moisture resistant, not your Harbor Freight no-glue crap. The ring terminals are heavy duty, thick flange, not paper thin tin foil. The connections are all crimped pin, water resistant, plug-in style connectors, not butt splices and cheap crimps. The harness is fully built and sheathed in techflex sleeving not only for good looks, but abrasion protection as well. The temp sensor in the block is the same one used by all the other vendors and e-fan companies.

Options/Pricing:
The kit is coming 4 ways.....pricing is for the first 25 kits only.
1- ($275) Full Kit, 100% complete, Color Directions, Temp Sensor Switch for the block, OEM Raptor Fan Connectors integrated in
2- ($255) Same as #1, but without the temp sensor switch for the block, if you already have one that you want to re-use
3- ($235) Same as #1, but without the OEM Raptor Fan Connectors integrated in, so you can use it on other dual fan setups (flex-a-lite, spal, etc)
4- ($215) Same as #1, but without the temp sensor switch, or the OEM Raptor Fan Connectors
Shipping is $18, add 3.5% if paying by paypal unless it's sent as a gift

I'm only able to offer these prices because of the bulk quantity of components I bought to build 25 at once. I don't expect to do a run this large again because the Lightning demand just isn't there these days, so after the first 25 kits, unfortunately the pricing goes up by $75, because I can't spend my time building these for less than 4 bucks each if I'm only building one at a time and ordering components for 1 kit at a time lol. If there's enough interest for another batch of 25 I can do the same pricing, but it's gotta be 25, because that puts me buying 25 or 50 of each item where I can get discounts to offset the labor.

IF YOU WANT ONE..... you need to send me a PM with which configuration you want, and I'll send you my paypal address.

few more detail pics...as you can see, it's fully plug & play, everything just plugs into the power relay modules, the harness plugs into the remote mount switch, then it's the matter of a couple ring terminals for a few grounds and the temp sensor switch.

Looks very simple and clean when finished, but a lot of thought went into every detail!

An interesting tidbit on the price point, since I find it humorous when the occasional troll tries to roast my prices saying they can build it for less....I'll share the component list on this one, because I have it down to every last inch of shrink tubing or wire, or every last connector pin, because I need to know exactly what goes into a kit to order the supplies...

If you add up all the parts to build this kit, and list them out, it's $194.24 in components, to have an unassembled pile of parts, with no directions, and no schematic! Oh and you have to order from SEVEN different companies to get everything, which is $77.15 in shipping between ordering from 7 places (you can't get this stuff at your local walmart!). So it's $271.39 to build your own if you're too stubborn to buy mine for 275!

Less than 4 bucks more than buying all the stuff to build yourself, you can buy mine complete, with directions!, done, ready to slap in the truck! How's that for a no brainer?

Component list below to see for yourself if you don't believe the $192.24 in components! I blanked out vendor's and exact part #'s, because lets be honest, I didn't spend all that time to shoot myself in the foot and make a how-to for the cheap asses who want to save 4 bucks. If they can figure out how to build their own harness then they can figure out how to spec their own components lol.

Also attached is the price breakdown as mentioned in the first post for the initial 25 kits.

I have the jdm kit in my truck. Works great but I like how neat and clean yours is. I would like to see how you would do a 2spd single fan and what it would cost.

Thanks everyone! I'm responding to PMs in a minute here.....I'll update the first post with a list of sold ones, names, and when they ship out, so folks can keep track of how many spots left if they want to still jump in, and so ones that ordered can know when their stuff heads out. I still need to finalize the directions, and waiting on the temp sensors to ship to me. I'll be able to start shipping within a week hopefully. I'll keep everyone updated.

Folks who still want in, shoot me a PM and I'll send you payment info.

I have a 2 speed single fan in my truck, and used these same parts to build my harness, so I've already done the work/design, so I can run a batch of those next if there's enough interest. On the good side it won't require the expensive raptor fan connectors, on the down side it does require an additional relay and a few more wires, so cost will probably be similar.

Okay I gotta get back to building......24 hours in, and we've already got 10 kits claimed, 3 of the 10 paid for, 4 additional interested/deciding, and haven't even listed the thread up on FB yet in all the groups, still a LR-only classified!

I'll give it 1 more day for LR-only, then I'll open it up to the FB world if there's any left.
