I recommend replacing the heater blend door with the Dorman blend door (part# 902-207) found at Auto Zone (approximately $25). The Dorman piece uses an aluminum sleeve instead of plastic. Eventually the plastic sleeve cracks and the blend door wonít open/close and the dash has to be pulled apart again.

Those heater cores sure are fun. It's not just ford though. Most are in that same location.
