My 04 doesn't have one. My 00 didn't have one. Not really sure there ever was one. I've never heard of it anywho.

btw: I am the second owner of my 04. The original owner didn't do too much, other than a Bedrug, an ARE bed cover and a Borla catback.

Are you talking about a piece of insulation directly behind the supercharger on the firewall?

I'm the original owner of my 01 built in April and mine has the heat/sound shield.

Well, guess mine has it. Wasn't aware that was a heat shield, just thought it decorative trim.

To my knowledge, the insulation wasn't installed on the F-150s until 01'. My 2000 didn't have the insulation, my 03' does...

I'm going to be removing my insulation due to wanting to clean up the engine bay. (I'd offer it to you, but already promised it to another member pending I can get it out without any damage).

I'll have to go out and take a peek later. So, does removing it make the supercharger louder from inside the cab?

Its a piece of fiberglass insulation that is stapled to some of the plastic engine bay trim pieces. I removed it from my Lightning years ago because it was much more visible with the Whipple due to the lower profile. Engine bay noise is slightly more noticible in the cab with it removed since it is a piece of sound/heat deadening insulation. I don't know what years came with it.

I messaged Clint from LMR on facebook since he's owned his 99 since new. He said it was "bare firewall" when he bought it.
stoffer and Getuone like this.

I don't recall how it started or why but I'm sure I'm to blame.
