Unfortunately I don't think there are many options that can replace a aeroforce.(gauge wise). I have seen a couple of others but none that have impressed me or looks promising.
That Android double din idea is pretty badass. Do you need to pay for service using a SIM card since you're not always going to have a WIFI signal when you are out riding around?
I have used TQ pro but am going to look into foreskin. I run a nexus seven which may be to big for some when I want to datalog. i also have the OT2 which works in tandem with the innovative wideband for data logging and has some quage features. However, it sounds like you want a one gauge set up. Be very very careful when buying the android double dinns. On my jeep forum, guys were buying them and it was about at 50% success rate on different features working and the sound is noticeably worse. Here is a thread if interested. https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-...avigation-jk-insane-jeep-pumpkin-ouku-321815/
Lots of different manufacturers all from china from the most part and lots of hits or misses. I would love to have a solid working android based head unit so if anyone has a good reliable unit recommendation it would be appreciated.
I was gonna say, PLX is the only other actual round gauge that I know of. Most other scan gauges I've seen are rectangular in shape. I'm throwing around the idea of going with a PLX, but I'm really leaning towards the Android radio.
Torque pro doesn't off the ability to scan the bus systems and read other PID's that forscan does. TP has a "prettier" UI but for function, it doesn't come close to Forscan. And forscan is free! Both are supported on android and windows. I use a galaxy tab 10.2 2014 edition tab with forscan and it's all you can ask for. A few weeks ago I was having fuel issues. Tried TP and couldn't figure the issue out, used forscan and was able to look at many more PIDs to help narrow the problem
Also to read the different protocols, the obdlink MX is the only elm device capable of doing so. It does not work with iOS devices. I average about 70-90 PID/sec I believe. No issus at all. And it is the only elm device that will not kill you battery. Automatically shuts off 10mins after power is cut to device. 200 bucks or tablet off ebay and 100 for OBDlink MX from amazon. i was actually able to log more PID/s than than a Snap On device from my fleet manager at work. he said he had over 15K in that device with the new software update. it wouldn't evel log my O2's like the OBDlink would. The OBD had everything the snap on tool did plus more, freeze frame, all of the modes, and they actually worked on the OBDlink. Hell it would even hold connection further away from the vehicle than snap on would. and guess what. when the snap on dies, you need a totally separate cable to hook the OBD2, the wireless (brick) dongle is a dongle only. cant unplug from the brick and then into the snap on device. that thing was junk.
I run blue driver connected to my phone on Bluetooth real time gauges, scan tool, data log I think it's like $100 bucks but I found mine laying in the cobra when I bought it before the lightning
I like some of the options brought up here. My only problem is having a place to put it. Id like to see it full time. Look's like ill have to put money aside the android deck for when my interceptor goes out. I only like seeing iat2's and coolant temp 24/7.
I thought about doing the console gauges as well. I could even get the local upholstery shop to make something like the livewire to actually look good. But i dont like looking down. I've for toggle switches in my overhead console and i dont like the attention it brings when i press the switches.
I still may, but i have stock 40/60 seats currently that arent in good condition.
That's a very clean console lay out. I have two aem widebands so my choices were kinda limited. I think my problem is i'm too particular. I would like full time trans temp, boost and fuel pressure but i dont want extra gauges.
