New Lightning rodder world record?

First off I want to say that Lightning rodders is my home page and when I go on the internet its the first thing that comes up. And L-rodders is where I do all my research or share what I have found out about this awesome platform. It seems all I can do is think about what I can do to my truck to make it faster, handle better, run cooler, carry more weight, lose weight, sound better, be more comfortable. There are a lot of really good people on here and I have been fortunate to help and meet quite a few. Alright, I dont know if it counts or if it deserves to be here but my truck is a swap truck. Full L-motor /trans and computer. I have done L gauges, Expi center console, pillar gauges etc. etc. etc. Being that it is a swapped truck has its down side and a few positives. Downside is its just an F-150 not a sexy, curvy, limited run L. Plus side is just that,... it is just an F-150. Nobody has any problems with how far I go off the deep end modding or how many miles I drive my work/farm truck. And nobody has a clue what I'm running under the hood(480Hp/530Tq) just driving around So Cal. It has hauled aprox. 650 lbs of tools and a 250 lb shell ( and up to a 1000 lbs more of concrete/bldg materials once in a while) without any complaints for almost everyday of its life the last 15 1/2 yrs.
That being said, lets get to it. Has any body driven their truck for more than 300,000mi? How bout 400,000? Well yesterday I just crossed the 400,000 total mile mark on the same chassis. 132,555mi. with my 5.4 L motor and 267,445 with the original 4.6 V8. The truck still handles well and still is my favorite vehicle to drive. But like an old race horse Its work days are done and its going to be retired from work duties and be brought back to better days by some cleaning, body work and paint. Same paint for 400,000 miles, it is not pretty. But after getting me and my tools to work for the last 16 or so yrs it looks pretty good to me. Just had to share it with you guys. Get out there and drive!

Oh and dont forget power!!! 395,000 mi. on the chassis and body! Definitely need a new paint job! I made it !!!!400,000 mi!!!!!! 132,000 with the L-motor!

It counts. If people think it doesnt count, then the crap like 2.3 record, all boost record etc doesnt count either. I think it's great to have swapped trucks here and actually DRIVE them. Most highly modded trucks seem to not get driven much.

Congrats on the mileage! Swap trucks are killer.

My previous owner knew an older local gentleman who had 290K miles on his Lightning. He was in his upper 70's and purchased the truck new. Not a single issue ever. Wonder what mileage he's up to now...

Thanks guys,
I try to think of how many oil changes and how many brake jobs, and not to think of how much money I've spent on gas. At an average of probably $3.85 a gallon.......nope not gonna think about it. What difference would it make? None! Still Love this truck. Almost cant remember what it was like when it had 200hp. Superchargers and turbos are way too much fun

You've always been a major contributor here, you're the one who gave the sweet recommendation to get my rear end built by unitrax, they did an awesome job! I always found it awesome that your truck is a CA legal swap which if anyone knows is a PITA. I always thought daily driving the truck and using the truck to haul is part of the appeal of muscle trucks, being able to haul ass one day and haul crap another lol. It's very tempting to baby these trucks but then it get spent more time being looked at than being enjoyed

I've only got 1500 miles on my swapped truck, got it running in January, truck itself is at 77k miles currently.

That is awesome! I think its great that you can actually daily one of these trucks for 16 yrs and it actually drives better than it did from the factory. Kudos to Jeffv333. My next milestone is Half a million miles. See you in about 5-6yrs.

As I said above the original paint is really showing its age and I pretty much live, eat, sleep in the truck so the interior also needs a thorough cleaning. I do have a full set of side skirts that I've been waiting to put on after I get the dents and dings taken out of it. But I'll post some pics of it now and you'll be able to see what it looks like later.

I usally can do that in a couple of weeks! Ha ha 2 things that really make this a great truck for me even with the L motor. My stock seats are not like any I've ever seen and are very comfortable for lots of miles, and my fuel economy has not changed hardly at all IF
I can keep my big foot out of it. Kind of hard to do with so many stupid SoCal drivers on the road

Both of my HDs are/were swap trucks, being the came with a measly 260 hp N/A 5.4 from the factory!

My "race" truck I did the full blown entire 02 HD drivetrain swap into it, and my "street" truck I did just the top end conversion....which I swapped back to N/A before selling that truck.

It's been 12 years since I did the swap though, so long ago and so many combos ago, that I nearly forget that it's a swap truck sometimes lol. It's been s/c for over twice as long as it's been n/a! 5 years n/a, 12 years s/c!

Thanks Josh,
That is the stuff I like to hear, I know for a fact that you have way more miles on the track than I do. With your new refresh and big blower I'm looking forward to the final results. Always like to see whats going on in the Josh garage. Gives me a whole other level to aspire to! And I didnt realize that you had swapped your trucks as well. I have proven that my truck can go the miles now its time to start fine tuning it since it wont see daily duty. Maybe it'll see a 1/4 mile or a road course now that I dont have to worry about getting me and my tools to work in it on Monday! That was one of the hardest things when modding for me. Mods either had to be done overnight or over the week end. Gotta get to work to pay for more gas and mods.

Yeah the 2000 HD's were all N/A, so mine are conversions. I do have to say my "race" truck that I did the 100% conversion on (wiring harnesses, PCM, trans, etc.) is way easier to mod than my "street" truck that I just did the top end swap and just top end harness and a tune in the factory PCM. It worked, but tuning was so much more of a PITA and had a lot more qwerks than the OEM s/c setup.

Met John(OP) last week, he cut some stock coils for me then we took a drive in his truck. it handles great and has good power; he's done a lot of trick things to it, it pretty much has all the last tech. and just to note, he has the stock 8.8 rear end which has the shock facing towards the rear, there is no long bars and no evidence of wheel hop, although he said the helper air bags might have something to do with it.
